HAMBURG — FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta visited the stand of HEA Energy at WindEnergy Hamburg this week, joining company founder Hassan El Ali at one of the world’s largest trade fairs for the wind and renewable energy industry.
During the visit, Laporta was briefed on HEA Energy’s operations, current projects and plans for international expansion. The company says its activities now span the Americas, Europe and the Middle East.
El Ali, who founded both HEA Energy and its parent group, HEA Holdings, has a business background covering real estate, insurance, asset management and offshore energy services. He is best known in the sector as the founder of ZMI Holdings, which the company described as the world’s largest owner and operator of self-elevating support vessels. ZMI was acquired by ADNOC Logistics & Services, the maritime arm of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, in 2022.
Following that sale, El Ali launched HEA Energy and has since focused on building its presence in international markets.
WindEnergy Hamburg brings together manufacturers, developers, investors and policymakers from across the global wind industry, and is regarded as a key venue for companies seeking partnerships and visibility in the energy transition.
